You are correct that most accounting clerks, bookkeepers, and low-level accountants are women. Most men I know prefer management or operations and so don't pursue accounting/bookkeeping...yet, most of the upper-level accountants I know are men. Don't concern yourself with whether you're a guy, just do well in school. There is no such thing as an accounting receptionist…so I can’t precisely answer your question. Clerical positions are usually people without degrees. There is a need for attention to detail and precision. Women do tend to be better at detail work.
