  1. The title should say it all…instead it is hard to follow and tedious…nothing easy about it…has features but hard to work.

  2. Could not get this product to override the old Quickbooks program we had in past years. The help life as a waste of time. I ended up using our old program for 2008 books again.

  3. Would give this software a 5 if it was not required that you call their customer service to get an activation code so that you can run the software. Their c/s department is very pushy when you call and insists that you need Quick Books Pro which is a lot more expensive. Getting the activation code from them is like having a tooth pulled – a REAL PAIN. Great software though and very easy to use.

  4. I bought this program last year to manage the finances of a small business. What a waste of money! Intuit has stripped so much functionality out of this product, it is ridiculous. For example…

    1) You can generate an email with a PDF attachment, but you cannot save an invoice as a PDF. Instead, you have to grab the PDF out of the email as you send it.

    2) You cannot edit templates for email generated invoices. You have to retype your letter every time.

    3) You can’t even make a deposit unless it originates from a customer sale. Hope you like manual journal entries.

    4) Don’t even think about trying to print on Vista. You’ll spend a couple of hours on google trying to figure out how to install a different PDF printer driver, so that you can trick Quickbooks into using it. Once you have your printer working in Vista, don’t accept any updates to the program as each one will break the print functionality.

    5) Every time you print from Quickbooks, their printer driver becomes your default printer.

    I could go on forever. Do yourself a favor and download Microsoft Office Accounting 2009 Express. It is FREE, and it is a MUCH better program.

  5. It’s for first-time users only and apparently you can download it for free, so why is someone selling it? I can’t believe I didn’t check it out first before buying it. Buyer beware. You can’t upload a QuickBooks file from any version into Simple Start and must start all over if you’re going to use the program.
